Our Story

At Friends of Children Circle Uganda (FOCC), our journey began with a simple yet profound vision rooted in a deep calling to serve children. The passion for children's ministry has been a guiding force for our organization, stemming from our founder's early experiences teaching and guiding children in church. This commitment to nurturing the next generation in the wisdom of the Lord is at the very heart of FOCC. One pivotal moment shaped the direction of our work. Our founder, during a childhood conversation with her father, expressed a unique aspiration: “I want to start an organization that will care for orphans and vulnerable children.” This vision stayed with her, and despite challenges, it grew stronger over time. After completing her studies, our founder faced the daunting task of finding a way to fund her dream. She considered various options, even working abroad, but none materialized.
It was during this time of uncertainty that she felt a divine prompting: “What are you waiting for? Start now, and the right support will find you.” With this renewed determination, the foundation of FOCC was laid. The name "Friends of Children Circle Uganda" was chosen with great care and prayer. It reflects our mission to bring together a community of like-minded individuals who share a love for children. Just as children form a protective circle in a game, FOCC aims to encircle vulnerable children with love, care, and protection, ensuring they grow up healthy, happy, and grounded in the word of God. In October 2018, FOCC was officially registered as a community faith-based organization. Our first outreach, the FOCC Kind Cover Program (FKCP), was a testament to our commitment. We provided clothes and essential supplies to over 100 children and 30 families in a remote village. This initiative, funded entirely by the contributions of FOCC members and friends, was a powerful reminder of the impact we could make together. Today, FOCC is proud to sponsor six children in school, with plans to expand our reach as donations grow. We believe that educating a child in need is one of the greatest acts of kindness and charity. However, we recognize that education alone is not enough. To ensure the holistic transformation of vulnerable children and orphans, we have embraced a Family Empowerment Program. This program focuses on equipping families with the tools, resources, and knowledge needed to break the cycle of poverty and create a stable, nurturing environment for their children. Our current projects include the Organic Cereals initiative, which supports farmers in adopting sustainable farming practices, and the Parenting Training project, which empowers caregivers with the skills to raise their children in a loving, supportive environment. We also continue to host health outreaches and community events aimed at improving the overall well-being of the families we serve. Looking ahead, FOCC plans to expand these programs and explore new initiatives that will further our mission of transforming lives and bringing hope to Uganda's most vulnerable. With faith in God's provision and the support of our community, we are confident that FOCC Uganda will continue to grow and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families across the region.

A Personal Message from the Director

Dear Friends and Supporters,

From the bottom of my heart, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the journey we have undertaken together at Friends of Children Circle Uganda. This vision has been with me since childhood, and seeing it come to life with your support has been nothing short of miraculous.

Every step we take, every child we help, is a testament to the power of collective love and faith. When I first shared my dream with my father, I never imagined the impact we could achieve. But through the grace of God and the unwavering support of people like you, FOCC has grown into a beacon of hope for vulnerable children.

As we move forward, I am filled with hope and determination. I know that together, we can continue to make a difference, one child at a time. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in this mission, and for helping us encircle these precious children with the love and care they deserve.

With heartfelt thanks,

Jackline Namono
